Do I have to be 55+ to live in your New Jersey active adult community?

Yes, we are an age restricted community. The primary occupant of the home must age  55 or older.

 

Can I own a 55+ property if my spouse is under the age of 55-years-old?

Yes, this is allowed if they pass all pre screenings mandated when moving into the community.

 

Can my grandchildren stay overnight?

Yes. The age restriction applies to residents.

Is renting or subletting allowed at this 55+ community?

No, all homes are purchase only. As the owner you cannot rent or sublet the home after purchasing the unit.

 

 I’m retiring on a budget – is financing available?

We do not offer direct financing, however we can refer you to a lender we work very closely with.

 

Does Oak Ridge Senior Community have pet restrictions?

We understand that pets are part of the family and allow one household pet per home. We welcome cats, dogs and most birds. Pets must weight 35 pounds or less. We expect the owner the properly care for the animal, including picking up pet poop!

 

How much is the monthly land lease fee?

Following the purchase of your home, residents pay a monthly land lease of $775.00  making Oak Ridge Senior Community one of the most affordable places to retire in New Jersey. This fee includes your water, sewer, property taxes, garbage & recycling collection, common area maintenance and snow removal.

What are residents responsible for?

Residents in our 55 plus community are responsible for Maintaining their yards, cable/internet, gas and electricity. A local resident in the community is available to assist others for a nominal fee.

I like to garden. Can I still enjoy this pastime?

Yes. All residents can maintain private gardens.

 

Who provides propane?

All residents are responsible for maintaining a service contract with a local vendor. We recommend Eastern Propane 973-697-3111.

 

What electric company services your community?

Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) provides service to all our residents. (800-662-3115)

Can I get cable and high speed internet?

Yes. Cablevision, Verizon, Direct TV and Dish are available.

Can I bring my car?

Yes. Safe, convenient parking is available to all residents.

 

Is there shopping nearby Oak Ridge Senior Community?

Town center just a short drive down the road where you will find an Acme, CVS, Bank, Nail Salon, Hair Salon, Gym, Ophthalmologist, Chiropractor, Primary Care Physician, Restaurants, and more. With so many local options, active senior living is more affordable and convenient than ever.
